Remove A Battery From A Sony Vaio

A good battery increases your mobility.

Removing the battery from your Sony Vaio laptop may help to reset the system or help prevent damage during long periods on nonuse. Laptop batteries discharge over time and may require replacement to ensure your computer runs optimally when not connected to an AC power source. Depending on your Vaio model, the battery may be either in a bottom or side compartment.

Instructions

Bottom Battery Compartments

1. Turn off the computer, and close the lid. Turn the computer over so the hinge is facing you.

2. Slide the battery "Lock" tab to the left to unlock the battery. This tab is on the right side of the battery compartment.

3. Slide the battery "Release" tab to the right and hold. This tab is on the left side of the battery compartment.

4. Slide the battery toward you and away from the computer by placing your finger in the indentation located at the top/middle of the battery compartment. The battery will slide or lift out depending on your particular model.

Side Battery Compartment

5. Pull off the battery cover.

6. Grab the exposed indentations on either side of the battery.

7. Slide battery out and away from computer.
