Use A Pdf User Manual For A Compaq Motherboard

Most software and hardware companies include printed manuals with their products, but also offer an electronic version either on a CD-ROM or available on their website. Adobe's Portable Document Format, or PDF, is the standard format for documents such as manuals and brochures because it allows documents to be read exactly as they appear in printed form, with no worries about text or font compatibility. The user manual for a Compaq motherboard is one such PDF file that can be easily read with Adobe's free reader program.

Instructions

1. Go to the Adobe Reader website (see link in References) and download the version of the reader appropriate for your system.

2. Double-click the downloaded file to install Adobe Reader. Unless you know to do otherwise, leave all installation settings as the default.

3. Double-click on the Compaq motherboard PDF manual. Adobe Reader makes itself the default program for PDF files, so the manual will open in the reader.

4. Use the scroll bar on the right of the Adobe window or the up and down arrow keys to read your document.

5. Print the PDF manual, if desired, by clcking on the printer icon on the Adobe Reader Toolbar or selecting "Print" from the "File" menu.
