Install a Motherboard IO Plate
The motherboard I/O plate is keeping the components grounded so there is no electrical feedback that might harm components or input devices that could plug into the back of your computer, such as computer mice, keyboards and microphones. These motherboard I/O plates come in many varieties, from screw-in to pop-in. Without this plate, the input devices have nothing to anchor to and will wear out their slots as they stress their ports. These plates also add structural stability for the motherboard as it supports the cables for the devices plugged into it. Most often, this part will be placed into a custom computer before anything else is installed.
Instructions
1. Place the I/O plate flush against the rectangular slot on the inside of the computer.
2. Press gently on the inside of the I/O plate with a small flathead screwdriver. Push the screwdriver gently in the groove on the inside of the plate to lock the rectangular plate in place.
