Motherboards are not always easy to identify.
Elitegroup is a computer hardware manufacturer and sells components that include computer motherboards. Because motherboards are inside the computer case and often obscured by other hardware and cabling, it can be difficult to identify the manufacturer and model of the motherboard at a glance. It's not difficult to find out if you have an Elitegroup motherboard, but it may require some detective work.
Instructions
1. Install hardware diagnostic software such as Belarc Advisor. Download a free copy of Belarc Advisor using the link provided in the Resources section. Launch the program and it will display information about all of the hardware on your computer. This will usually tell you the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard.
2. Review the user manual for your motherboard to determine the brand and model number of your motherboard. If you do not have the manual for your motherboard, check the documentation for your computer to see if this information is provided.
3. Open the computer case by removing the screws securing the cover. Lift off the cover and set it aside. Look inside the case and closely examine the motherboard to see if the Elitegroup name is imprinted on the board. You may have to disconnect hardware or move cables out of the way to see the motherboard better.
