Flash The Bios On An Asus

Typical Motherboard

Flashing the BIOS is the process of updating the BIOS on a motherboard to the latest version released by the manufacturer. Traditionally, flashing the BIOS required downloading the new BIOS to a floppy disk and updating from the floppy in the BIOS. However, with many ASUS motherboards, ASUS has provided a BIOS updater software that can be run within the Windows environment without a floppy.

Instructions

1. Go to the ASUS download page (see Resources). In the drop-down menus, select your ASUS motherboard.

2. Expand BIOS_Utilities in the menu to the left, by clicking on the plus (+) sign. Download the latest ASUS BIOS Updater software.

3. Open the downloaded file and install the ASUS BIOS updater software. Follow the prompt to complete the installation.

4. Open the ASUS BIOS updater software.

5. In the drop-down menu, select "Update BIOS from the Internet", and then click "Next".

6. Click the "Auto-Select" button, then click "Next".

7. Select the latest BIOS version in the drop-down menu, then click "Next". Follow the prompts to complete the BIOS update.
