Install An Asus Drw1612blt Ata Device Driver

Install new drivers for your Asus DVD player with tools native to Windows.

Every hardware device on a Windows 7-based computer utilizes a set of files called drivers that are unique to that specific device. A driver allows the hardware device -- such as a DVD player -- to communicate with the other PC components. The Asus DRW-1612BLT device not only plays DVDs, but it is also a burner that allows a DVD to be rewritten for an easy storage solution. The Asus DVD player needs to have the most up-to-date driver available to perform effectively without malfunction. The Device Manager tool in Windows allows for quick driver updates.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of the Windows desktop, then type "Device Manger" into the search box that appears. The Device Manager window appears. The Device Manager contains a list of all hardware devices installed on the PC, grouped according to the function they serve.

2. Open the "DVD/CD-ROM Drives" heading and then double-click on the Asus DVD player's name. A DVD Properties window opens.

3. Click the "Driver" tab inside the DVD Properties window, then press the "Update Driver" button. The Windows Driver Update Wizard starts.

4. Press the "Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software" option to search the Internet and automatically install the newest driver available for the Asus DVD player.
