Asus M2N-MX motherboards officially support Windows 2000, XP and Vista OSes.
The Asus M2N-MX motherboard supports AMD socket AM2 processors such as the AMD Athlon 64, Athlon FX, Athlon X2 and AMD Sempron processors. It supports simultaneous 32-bit and 64-bit operation with the installed nVidia chipset. This motherboard will support a variety of operating systems and comes with built-in audio, video, USB, SATA, and IDE interfaces. Once the Asus M2N-MX motherboard is assembled within the computer case you can begin installing an OS (operating system) on the motherboard.
Instructions
1. Decide which operating system you are going to install on your Asus M2N-MX motherboard.
2. Assemble the drivers needed for the operating system that you wish to install. Windows 2000, XP and Vista drivers are included on the Driver CD that comes packaged with the Asus M2N-MX motherboard.
3. Turn on the computer, place the operating system install disc into the optical drive and press the key combination "Ctrl," "Alt," "Del" to restart the computer.
4. Press the key combination required to boot from the install CD. Most newer versions of Microsoft Windows will instruct you to "press any key."
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to boot and install the chosen operating system on your Asus M2N-MX motherboard.
6. Restart the computer after the operating system is installed.
7. Install any drivers that were not automatically installed during the operating system install process. Drivers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista are included on the Driver CD that is packaged with the motherboard. For other operating systems refer to the operating system installation manual.
8. Connect to the Internet using an Ethernet cable connection and download any updates to your new operating system.
9. Install the Applications CD packaged with your Asus M2N-MX motherboard if you have installed Windows 2000, XP or Vista as your operating system. This CD may not be compatible with other operating systems.
