Install Xfx 8600 Gt

The XFX 8600 GT is a member of the nVidia GeForce Video Card family. Widely praised for being powerful and fast for its relatively cheap price, the 8600 GT has become a popular video card for PC owners who want to play games on their machines while not wanting to spend thousands to get a top-of-the-line gaming PC. Installing this video card, just like installing any other video cards, is a relatively easy process if you know what you are doing.

Installing XFX 8600 GT Video Card

1. Shut off your computer and unplug the power cable from the machine. Disconnect all wires from the computer tower. Lay the computer tower down on its side and remove the side panel to reveal the motherboard. Remove the existing video card and set it to the side.

2. Take the XFX 8600 GT and slide it into the computer bus port that the previous video card occupied. Connect any other cords that are needed, such as power cords.

3. Slide the computer panel back onto the tower and lock it in place. Put the computer tower back and reconnect all the cords. Connect the power cord last.

Install XFX 8600 GT Drivers

4. Power on your computer and allow it to boot into the computer's operating system. Allow the OS up to 2 minutes to detect the new video hardware.

5. Insert the XFX 8600 GT Driver Disk into the CD Drive and wait for the software launcher screen.

6. Click "Install Drivers" and follow the installation instructions. Allow upward of 3 minutes to install all necessary drivers. Restart your computer to complete installation of the disk drivers.
