The Specifications Of An Hp Pavilion A1420n

The Pavilion a1420n didn't include a monitor.


The HP Pavilion Media Center a1420n is a desktop computer that Hewlett-Packard Co. released in February 2006. The computer shipped bundled with the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system. It included a one-year warranty that covered labor, parts and telephone technical support. The HP Pavilion a1420n was sold in both Canada and the United States but has since been discontinued.


Processor, Memory, Storage


The Pavilion a1420n was built around an ECS RC410-M motherboard. An Intel Pentium 4 version 620 processor powered the computer. The processor was clocked at 2.8 GHz and featured an 800 MHz front-side bus speed as well as Hyper-Threading technology. Standard versions of the Pavilion a1420n came with 1GB of PC2-3200 SDRAM installed as two 512MB modules. You could upgrade RAM to a maximum of 2GB. For storage, the Pavilion a1420n featured a 200GB internal SATA hard drive that functioned at 7,200 rpm.


Multimedia


Graphics on the Pavilion a1420n were controlled by an integrated Intel graphical processing unit. An integrated sound controller based on the Realtek ALC 883 chip set handled sound. The sound controller supported up to eight channels of audio and was compatible with Dolby Pro Logic II. A 9-in-1 memory card reader was located on the front of the computer. The memory card reader was compatible with most card types available at the time of manufacture, including Secure Digital, Micro Drive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Compact Flash I and II, MultiMediaCard and XD Picture cards. HP included a built-in 16X rewritable DVD drive with the Pavilion a1420n as well. The DVD drive featured LightScribe technology.


Expansion and Connectivity


The Pavilion a1420n featured both a 56K modem and a 10/100 Ethernet port for connecting the computer to the Internet or a local area network. Additional ports on the front of the computer included one IEEE 1394 Firewire connection, two USB 2.0 ports, one 3.5-mm headphone jack, one line-in jack and one 3.5-mm microphone plug. On the rear of the computer were an additional four USB ports, two PS/2 jacks, one VGA port, one parallel port, an S-Video output and another IEEE 1394 port.


Included Software


Several software titles shipped with the HP Pavilion a1420n. Titles included HP Photosmart Premier 6, Rhapsody, Real Player, Microsoft Works 8.0, PC-Doctor 5, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Adobe Reader and others. Many of the programs, such as Norton Internet Security 2006, for example, were trial versions that expired within a set period of time from the date of activation.
