Replace A Dell Inspiron 1150 Battery

Replace a Dell Inspiron 1150 Battery

The battery in your Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop is rechargeable. This battery should last through several years worth of charging cycles; however, a time will come when it no longer holds a charge. When this happens, it's time to replace the battery. There are several types of replacement batteries you can order from Dell for your 1150 laptop. The installation process is the same for each.

1. Click on the Start menu and select Shut Down to properly shut down your Dell 1150. Once the system shuts down, unplug any cables (such as a modem cable), then close the laptop screen and turn it over to access the bottom.

2. Look in the bottom corner of the laptop. You'll see a black switch that has a battery icon. This is the battery-release switch; the module beneath it is the Dell's battery.

3. Push the switch up to release the battery. With the switch held, slide your fingers over the battery and guide it outward to remove it.

4. Insert the new battery into the same slot. Push it inward to install it; it will automatically snap into place.
